2018–19 Columbia Lions Men's Basketball Team
The 2018–19 Columbia Lions men's basketball team represented Columbia University in the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They played their home games at Levien Gymnasium in New York City and were led by third-year head coach Jim Engles, as members of the Ivy League. They finished the season 10–18, 5–9 in Ivy League play, to finish in seventh place. They failed to qualify for the Ivy League tournament. Previous season The Lions finished the 2017–18 season 8–19, 5–9 in Ivy League play, to finish in a tie for fifth place and failed to qualify for the Ivy League tournament. Jim Engles
Jim Engles (born August 18, 1968) is an American college basketball coach and the former coach of the Columbia Lions men's basketball team. He has also been the head men's basketball coach at the New Jersey Institute of Technology New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) is a Public university, public research university in Newark, New Jersey, United States, with a graduate-degree-granting satellite campus in Jersey City. In Engles' first season (2008), the NJIT Highlanders snapped their Division I-record 51-game losing streak with a win over Bryant. Under Engles, NJIT reached the CIT semifinals in both 2015 and 2016. Queen's Grant High School
Queen's Grant High School is a charter school in Matthews, North Carolina. The campus is on 32 acres, formerly Idlewild Country Club. It is an extension of Queen's Grant Community School, an NHA charter that offers grades K-8. History Queen's Grant was formed in 2006, and opened in 2007 with ninth and tenth grades. The school rented space until 2009, when it first assembled modular units to accommodate over 400 students. In 2010, Queen's Grant appointed Principal Michael Smith, who was recruited by former Mint Hill, North Carolina Mayor Ted Biggers. Smith retired and was replaced by Josh Swartzlander in 2019. San Carlos (Spanish for "St. Charles") is a city in San Mateo County, California, United States. The population is 30,722 per the 2020 census. History Native Americans Prior to the Spanish arrival in 1769, the land of San Carlos was occupied by a group of Native Americans who called themselves the Lamchins. Mission College Preparatory High School
Mission College Preparatory Catholic High School is a private Catholic high school in San Luis Obispo, California, United States. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Monterey. Remodelings and additions In 2004, Mission College Prep (MCP) underwent a major renovation. An entire new wing was built over the parking lot, which was remade into an underground parking facility. Included in this add-on is the Cowitz Gymnasium. The previous gym was transformed into a performing arts auditorium. In the summer of 2007 MCP tore out and replaced the football, soccer, and baseball field. This action was done to accommodate the change from 8-man to 11-man football. In addition a removable dugout was placed alongside the field to allow both football and baseball to be played on the same field. Arroyo Grande (Spanish for "Big Creek") is a town in San Luis Obispo County, California, United States. History The earliest inhabitants of Arroyo Grande Valley were the northern or Obispeno Chumash Indians.
