The 2017–18 Western Sydney Wanderers FC season was the club's sixth season since its establishment in 2012. The club participated in the A-League for the sixth time and the FFA Cup for the fourth time. The Australia Cup (currently known as the Hahn Australia Cup for sponsorship reasons) is the national soccer knockout cup competition in Australia. This annual competition is organised by Football Australia (known as Football Federation Australia until 2020). Mark Robert Bridge (born 7 November 1985) is a retired Australian professional football (soccer) player. Bridge is the Western Sydney Wanderers' first ever goalscorer, earning himself the nickname 'King Bridge' among fans. On 18 April 2015 in the 26th-round match against Adelaide United, Bridge became the ninth player to reach 200 A-League games. Kearyn Byron Baccus (born 5 September 1991) is a footballer who most recently played as a central midfielder for Macarthur FC in the A-League Men. Born in South Africa, he played as a youth international for Australia. Club career Baccus joined Sydney FC's youth set-up in 2008, and in 2010 moved to Europe where he joined French side Le Mans' youth set-up, not before trialling at Mallorca and Real Sociedad in Spain. Rolieny Nonato Luis Bonevacia (born 8 October 1991) is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder. Marcelo Adrián Carrusca (; born 1 September 1983), is an Argentine-Australian former professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder, and is the current Head of Junior Development for Adelaide United. Born in La Plata, Carrusca started his professional career at Estudiantes de La Plata before moving to Turkish side Galatasaray in 2006. After spending a season on loan for Mexican club Cruz Azul, Carrusca returned to Estudiantes in 2009, playing one further season at the club and one on loan at Banfield.
