2017–18 UAB Blazers Men's Basketball Team
The 2017–18 UAB Blazers basketball team represented the University of Alabama at Birmingham during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Blazers, led by second-year head coach Robert Ehsan, played their home games at the Bartow Arena as members of Conference USA. They finished the season 20–13, 10–8 C-USA play to finish in sixth place. The defeated Florida Atlantic in the first round of the C-USA tournament before losing to Western Kentucky. Despite winning 20 games, they did not participate in a postseason tournament. Previous season The Blazers finished the 2016–17 season 17–16, 9–9 in C-USA play to finish in a tie for seventh place. Robert Ehsan
Robert Hassan Ehsan ( ; born May 3, 1982) is an American college basketball coach who is currently the head coach for the UIC Flames men's basketball, UIC Flames. From 2016–2020, he was the head men's basketball coach at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). A native of Sacramento, California, Ehsan was a four-year player at UC Davis Aggies men's basketball, UC Davis. He was a team captain as a senior in 2005. Ehsan served as an assistant coach at the University of Maryland from 2008 to 2011. When Gary Williams resigned, Ehsan was named interim head coach. He spent a season as an assistant at Virginia Tech before becoming an assistant coach at UAB Blazers men's basketball, UAB in 2012. Savannah High School is a public high school located in Savannah, Georgia, United States. Campus Savannah High is now located at 400 Pennsylvania Avenue. History Savannah High School was originally located on Washington Avenue between East and West Atlantic Avenues. The original building, built by the WPA and designed by William Bordley Clarke, Sr., was once the largest public school building in the United States. The foundation of the original building had been built as a luxury hotel, but the owners went bankrupt in the Great Depression and the City of Savannah took over the unfinished building. The three-story brick and mortar structure included two interior courtyards, one of which held a rifle range for the ROTC as well as several circular interior fire escape slides, which have since been sealed off. Providence School of Jacksonville is a private, college preparatory Christian school in Jacksonville, Florida, U.S. It has a preschool, a lower school, a middle school, and a high school, and enrolls about 1,200 students a year. The school is affiliated with the New Life Christian Fellowship, a non-denominational church in Jacksonville, and opened in 1997. Hastings is an unincorporated census-designated place and agricultural center in St. Johns County, Florida, United States, southwest of St. Augustine. Columbiana is a city and the county seat of Shelby County, Alabama, United States. At the 2020 census, the population was 4,462. History Columbiana, originally called Columbia, was selected as the county seat of Shelby County in 1826 over rivals Calera and Montevallo. After the selection as the county seat, Columbiana celebrated by drilling holes in a large pine tree and packing it with gunpowder. The tree was blown up and the sound could be heard for miles.
