2017–18 Mississippi State Bulldogs Men's Basketball Team
The 2017–18 Mississippi State Bulldogs basketball team represented Mississippi State University in the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bulldogs, led by third-year head coach Ben Howland, played their home games at the Humphrey Coliseum in Starkville, Mississippi as members of the Southeastern Conference. They finished the season 25–12, 9–9 in SEC play to finish in a tie for seventh place. They defeated LSU in the second round of the SEC tournament before losing in the quarterfinals to Tennessee. They were received an at-large bid to the National Invitation Tournament where they defeated Nebraska, Baylor, and Louisville to advance to the semifinals where they lost to Penn State. Ben Howland
Benjamin Clark Howland (born May 28, 1957) is an American college basketball coach who most recently served as the men's head coach at Mississippi State University from to 2015 to 2022. He served as the head men's basketball coach at Northern Arizona University from 1994 to 1999, the University of Pittsburgh from 1999 to 2003, and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) from 2003 to 2013. Howland became the first men's coach in modern college basketball history to be fired shortly after winning an outright power-conference title. He is one of the few NCAA Division I coaches to take four teams to the NCAA tournament. 2016–17 Southeastern Conference Men's Basketball Season
The 2016–17 Southeastern Conference men's basketball season began with practices in October 2016, followed by the start of the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season in November. Camden is an unincorporated community located on Mississippi Highway 17 in Madison County, Mississippi, United States. Camden is located approximately northeast of Sharon and is located within the Jackson Metropolitan Statistical Area. Although unincorporated, Camden has a post office and a zip code of 39045. The town was named for Camden, South Carolina by Mississippi Governor William McWillie. McWillie was raised in Camden, South Carolina, and was in The South Carolina House of Representatives and the South Carolina Senate. Robert Woodard II
Robert Anthony Woodard II (born September 22, 1999) is an American professional basketball player for the Delaware Blue Coats of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for Mississippi State. Early life Woodard grew up playing basketball and baseball but narrowed his focus to basketball by the time he started high school, in part due to his exceptional height. He was already receiving Division I college attention in eighth grade. He played basketball for Columbus High School in Columbus, Mississippi. Reginald Jordan Perry (born March 21, 2000) is an American professional basketball player for the Greensboro Swarm of the NBA G League.
