The 2017–18 season was the eighth in the history of Melbourne City Football Club. In addition to the domestic league, the club competed in the FFA Cup for the fourth time. Melbourne City Football Club is an Australian professional Association football, soccer club based in the South-Eastern Metropolitan Region, South-Eastern region of Melbourne, Victoria. They compete in the A-League Men, the Australian soccer league system, highest division of soccer in Australia, under licence from the Australian Professional Leagues (APL). The 2018–19 season was the ninth in the history of Melbourne City Football Club. In addition to the domestic league, Melbourne City competed in the FFA Cup for the fifth time. Players Squad information Review Pre-season Melbourne City began their pre-season by playing two games in Kochi, India beating Indian club Kerala Blasters 6–0 and losing to Spanish club Girona FC 6–0. Nick Fitzgerald (footballer)
Nicholas John Fitzgerald (born 13 February 1992) is an Australian professional soccer player who plays for Sydney Olympic. Playing career Club career Fitzgerald grew up on Sydney's Hills Shire and played with several local clubs before playing for Blacktown City Demons in their youth teams. He was signed by the Central Coast Mariners in the A-League for their youth team, and was promoted into the senior team for their round 27 clash against Wellington Phoenix at Westpac Stadium. Osama Malik
Osama "Ozzie" Malik (; born 30 September 1990) is an Australian professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder or centre-back. Club career Malik signed for Adelaide United's youth squad at the commencement of the A-League 2008–09 season. Prior to this he had been plying his trade for local clubs Croydon Kings and Adelaide Raiders where he made his senior debut at the age of 17. Bartholomew Schenkeveld (; born 28 August 1991) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Greek Super League club Panathinaikos. Besides the Netherlands, he has played in Australia and Greece. Harrison Andrew Delbridge (born 15 March 1992) is an Australian professional soccer player who plays as a centre-back for K League 1 club Incheon United and the Australia national team. Scott Alexander Jamieson (born 13 October 1988) is an Australian retired soccer player who played as a left back. Club career Blacktown City Jamieson was born in Auburn, Sydney. Joseph Adrian Montemurro (born Giuseppe Montemurro, ; 13 September 1969), nicknamed Pepe, is an Australian soccer coach and former player who has been the head coach of the Australian women's national team since June 2025. Montemurro had played as a midfielder, mainly in Italy in the 1990s, before returning to Australia to play for Victorian State League teams.
