2017–18 Liverpool F.C. Season
The 2017–18 season was Liverpool Football Club's 126th season in existence and their 56th consecutive season in the top flight of English football. It was also the club's 26th consecutive season in the Premier League. Along with the Premier League, Liverpool also competed in the FA Cup, EFL Cup and UEFA Champions League. The season covered the period from 1 July 2017 to 30 June 2018. It began with an away 3–3 draw against Watford in the league and ended with a 3–1 loss to Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final. Season review Pre-season Liverpool began their preseason in the same manner as last year, a visit to Tranmere Rovers on 12 July. Liverpool won 0–4 with goals from James Milner (from the penalty spot), Marko Grujić, Pedro Chirivella, and Ben Woodburn (from the penalty spot as well.) Dominic Ayodele Solanke-Mitchell (born 14 September 1997) is an English professional footballer who plays as a striker for club Tottenham Hotspur and the England national team. Solanke started his career with Chelsea, making his first-team debut in October 2014. He spent the 2015–16 season on loan with Vitesse in the Eredivisie. 2017 Premier League Asia Trophy
The 2017 Premier League Asia Trophy was the eighth edition of the Premier League Asia Trophy. Crystal Palace, Liverpool, Leicester City and West Bromwich Albion competed for the Premier League Asia Trophy. It was held in Hong Kong at the Hong Kong Stadium from 19–22 July 2017. It was the first edition with four Premier League teams to compete and therefore not feature a side from the host country. Benjamin Luke Woodburn (born 15 October 1999) is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Salford City and the Wales national team. Pedro Chirivella Burgos (; born 23 May 1997) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Ligue 1 club Nantes, whom he also captains. He began his professional career at Liverpool, playing 11 games, of which one in the Premier League.
