2017–18 Kerala Blasters FC Season
The 2017–18 season was the List of Kerala Blasters FC seasons, fourth season in Kerala Blasters FC's existence, as well as their fourth season in Indian Super League. The club finished the Indian Super League points table in the 6th place, thus missing out the play-offs. The Blasters also made their debut in the 2018 Indian Super Cup, inaugural edition of Super Cup (India), Super Cup during the season, being eliminated in the first round after losing against NEROCA F.C., NEROCA. Following the departure of Steve Coppell to the new side Jamshedpur FC, Jamshedpur, Kerala Blasters announced the signing of René Meulensteen as their new head coach on 14 July 2017. Kerala Blasters Football Club (), commonly referred to simply as Blasters, is an Indian association football, professional football club based in Kochi, Kerala, that competes in the Indian Super League (ISL), the top tier of football in India. The club was established in May 2014 during the 2014 Indian Super League season, inaugural season of the ISL. The club played their inaugural match on 13 October 2014, losing 1–0 to NorthEast United FC, NorthEast United. The Blasters are the three-time runners-up of the Indian Super League. Jamshedpur Football Club (, ) is an Indian professional association football, football club based in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, that competes in the Indian Super League (ISL), the top flight of Indian football league system, Indian football. Founded in 2017, the club debuted in the ISL during the 2017–18 Indian Super League season, 2017–18 season. It is the only club in the top flight to have self owned JRD Tata Sports Complex, stadium and training facilities. The club is owned and managed by Tata Steel. Prasanth Karuthadathkuni Mohan (born 24 June 1997) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a winger for I-League club Inter Kashi. Club career Youth and early career Born in Kerala, Prasanth originally began his athletic career as a runner, winning a bronze medal at a state meet in Kozhikode. He then started to play football in 2008 after being convinced to do so by his brother, Pramod. He went on to represent the Kerala under-14 side in 2010 before appearing for selection trials for the AIFF Regional Academy in May 2012. Sandesh Jhingan (born 21 July 1993) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Indian Super League club Goa and the Indian national team. He won the AIFF emerging player of the year award in 2014 and made his debut for the India national side in 2015. 2014 Kerala Blasters FC Season
The 2014 season was the first ever season in Kerala Blasters Football Club's existence after its establishment in May 2014, as well as their first season in the inaugural season of Indian Super League. The club managed to secure qualification for the Indian Super League finals on 9 December 2014, after finishing the regular season in fourth position. They managed to make it to the final, but were defeated by Atlético de Kolkata through a stoppage time goal. The Blasters signed the former England international, David James, as their first ever coach in August. Telem Jackichand Singh (born 17 March 1992) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a winger for I-League 2 club NEROCA FC. Club career Royal Wahingdoh 2011–2014 (I-League 2nd Division) Jackichand made his professional debut for Royal Wahingdoh, then in the I-League 2nd Division, on 19 September 2011 in the Federation Cup against Churchill Brothers. Subhashish Roy Chowdhury (born 27 September 1986) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Kerala Super League club Forca Kochi FC. Arata Izumi
is a professional coach and former footballer who played as a midfielder. He was recently the assistant coach of I-League club Inter Kashi. Born in Japan, Izumi represented India at the international level. Izumi played nine matches for India in 2013 and 2014.
