2017–18 Iona Gaels Men's Basketball Team
The 2017–18 Iona Gaels men's basketball team represented Iona College (New York), Iona College during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Gaels, led by eighth-year head coach Tim Cluess, played their home games at the Hynes Athletic Center in New Rochelle, New York as members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). They finished the season 20–14, 11–7 in 2017–18 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference men's basketball season, MAAC play, to finish in fourth place. As the No. 4 seed in the 2018 MAAC men's basketball tournament, 2018 MAAC tournament, they defeated 2017–18 Manhattan Jaspers basketball team, Manhattan, 2017–18 Saint Peter's Peacocks men's basketball team, Saint Peter's and 2017–18 Fairfield Stags men's basketball team, Fairfield, to become champions of the MAAC tournament for the third consecutive time. Tim Cluess
Timothy Michael Cluess (born March 9, 1959) is an American college basketball coach who most recently was the head men's basketball coach at Iona College (New York), Iona College. He is also a former head coach of LIU Post, Long Island University–C.W. Post. College playing career Born in Queens, New York (state), New York, Cluess played college basketball at St. John's (1979–81) and Hofstra (1982–83). Professional playing career Cluess played professionally in Europe and Australia. Coaching career High school Cluess was the head coach of St. Mary's High School (Manhasset, New York), Saint Mary's High School in Manhasset, New York for 14 seasons (1991–2005). 2016–17 Rider Broncs Men's Basketball Team
The 2016–17 Rider Broncs men's basketball team represented Rider University during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Broncs, led by fifth year head coach Kevin Baggett, played their home games at Alumni Gymnasium as members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They finished the season 18–15, 10–10 in MAAC play to finish in a tie for sixth place. They defeated Manhattan in the first round of the MAAC tournament before losing in the quarterfinals to Iona. Hamden High School
Hamden High School is a four-year high school for grades 9 through 12. It is located at 2040 Dixwell Avenue in Hamden, Connecticut. It is part of the Hamden Public School System and is the only public high school within the town of Hamden. The school was built in 1935 and is still in operation today, although it has gone through numerous renovations. Most recent was the removal of previous additions along with part of the original building, and the addition of 3 additional wings, all of which are attached to the original front wing to form a square. One of its most notable features is a golden cupola atop a clock tower, at the front of the building. Below the clock tower sits a small circular window, with two draping plaster banners on the sides seeming to form the letter 'M,' and giving the building the nickname "the MOM building."
