Ekstraliga (women's Football)
The Ekstraliga (), officially known as Orlen Superliga due to its sponsorship by Orlen, is the top Polish league for women's association football teams. The league's first season was in 1979–80. Initially, it was called ''I liga polska kobiet''. The first title holder was Czarni Sosnowiec. In 2005, the league was renamed to ''Ekstraliga kobiet''. The winner of the league qualifies for the UEFA Women's Champions League. Relegated teams descend to the I liga. Teams Format Up to the 2009–10 season with six teams in the league, the teams played each other four times per season. Thus, each club was totalling 20 matches. The last-place finisher was relegated while the 5th-place finisher played a two-legged relegation play-off. For the 2010–11 season, the whole women's football of Poland was reorganized. KKPK Medyk Konin
KKPK Medyk Konin is a Polish women's football club from Konin. As of the 2024–25 season, they compete in the I liga, the second level of competition, following relegation from the 2023–24 Ekstraliga. Medyk Konin was founded in 1985. Since its promotion to the top league, the team has always finished near the top. They finished runners-up in 2002–03, 2003–04, 2005–06 and 2007–08 campaigns. In the 2007–08 season, the team only drew the penultimate game against KŚ AZS Wrocław, but in so doing lost a chance at their first title. The same fate happened again in the 2010–11 season, when they lost on the last matchday to Unia Racibórz, whom they would have overtaken for the title with a win. Patrícia Hmírová (born 30 November 1993) is a Slovak professional footballer who plays as a forward for Spanish Primera División club Deportivo La Coruña and the Slovakia women's national team. Club career Hmírová played in the Slovak Women's First League for ŠKF Žilina before moving to the Polish Ekstraliga where she played for 1. FC Katowice, TS Mitech Żywiec and Górnik Łęczna. Anna Gawrońska
Anna Gawrońska is a Polish footballer who plays as a striker for Medyk Konin. She was the Ekstraliga's top scorer in 2005–06 and 2007–08 season. She earned 78 caps and scored 11 goals for the Poland national team from 2002 to 2017. After retiring from an active career, she began working as a coach. In January 2011, together with Nina Patalon, she became the head coach of Medyk Konin's first team. Kolejowy Klub Sportowy Czarni Sosnowiec, commonly referred to as Czarni Sosnowiec, is a football club from Sosnowiec, Poland. The club was founded in 1924, and its home ground is the Jan Ciszewski's Stadium. It has a women's and a men's section.
