2017–18 Drake Bulldogs Women's Basketball Team
The 2017–18 Drake Bulldogs women's basketball team represented Drake University during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Bulldogs, led by sixth year head coach Jennie Baranczyk, played their home games at Knapp Center and are members of the Missouri Valley Conference. They finished the season 26–8, 18–0 in MVC play to win the MVC regular season championship. They defeated Valparaiso, Southern Illinois and Northern Iowa to become champions of the 2018 Missouri Valley Conference women's basketball tournament, Missouri Valley women's tournament and earn an automatic trip to the 2017 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament, NCAA women's tournament, where they lost to Texas A&M in the first round. Jennie Baranczyk
Jennie Lillis Baranczyk (born Jennie Marie Lillis; February 22, 1982) is an American basketball coach who is the current head coach of the Oklahoma Sooners women's basketball, University of Oklahoma women's basketball team. Early life and education Born Jennie Marie Lillis in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Jennie Baranczyk was raised in Urbandale, Iowa and attended Dowling Catholic High School in nearby West Des Moines, Iowa, West Des Moines, the same high school which Caitlin Clark graduated from. A communications major, Baranczyk attended the University of Iowa and played at forward (basketball), forward on the Iowa Hawkeyes women's basketball team under head coach Lisa Bluder from 2000 to 2004. As a senior, Baranczyk averaged 16.0 points and 6.2 rebounds and was a second-team All-Big Ten Conference, Big Ten selection. Jordan, Minnesota
Jordan is a city in Scott County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 6,656 at the 2020 census. History The community began on November 27, 1853, when Thomas A. Holmes ordered the construction of a sawmill. This establishment gave Jordan its first name, Holmes Mill. A year after the mill's founding, Thomas's brother William Holmes moved to the site and began platting a settlement. By 1855, he surveyed and recorded his settlement as Jordan City, after the Jordan River in Palestine. Jordan City accumulated some success in 1855 and 1856 with the addition of a post office and a handful of businesses. In 1860, the neighboring settlement of Brentwood was surveyed by S. A. Hooper, J. H. Gardner and R. W. Thomas. The two settlements competed until a legislative action consolidated them into the village of Jordan in 1872.
