2017–18 Columbia Lions Men's Basketball Team
The 2017–18 Columbia Lions men's basketball team represented Columbia University during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Lions, led by second-year head coach Jim Engles, played their home games at Levien Gymnasium in New York City as members of the Ivy League. They finished the season 8–19, 5–9 in Ivy League play to finish in a tie for fifth place and fail to qualify for the 2018 Ivy League men's basketball tournament, Ivy League tournament. Jim Engles
Jim Engles (born August 18, 1968) is an American college basketball coach and the former coach of the Columbia Lions men's basketball team. He has also been the head men's basketball coach at the New Jersey Institute of Technology New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) is a Public university, public research university in Newark, New Jersey, United States, with a graduate-degree-granting satellite campus in Jersey City. Luke Petrasek
Luke Petrasek (born August 17, 1995) is an American-born Polish professional basketball player for Anwil Włocławek of the Polish Basketball League (PLK). He played college basketball for Columbia. Early life Petrasek's grandfather Connie Simmons played for the New York Knicks from 1949 to 1954. Petrasek attended Northport High School, which he led to the 2013 Long Island Class AA Championship. He was a Newsday All-Long Island First Team honoree. College career Petrasek immediately entered the starting lineup for Columbia and named was named Ivy League rookie of the week after scoring 20 points and blocking three shots in an 82–59 win over Fairleigh Dickinson on December 21, 2013. As a junior at Columbia, Petrasek averaged 10.2 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. Mission College Preparatory High School
Mission College Preparatory Catholic High School is a private Catholic high school in San Luis Obispo, California, United States. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Monterey. Remodelings and additions In 2004, Mission College Prep (MCP) underwent a major renovation. An entire new wing was built over the parking lot, which was remade into an underground parking facility. Included in this add-on is the Cowitz Gymnasium. The previous gym was transformed into a performing arts auditorium. In the summer of 2007 MCP tore out and replaced the football, soccer, and baseball field. This action was done to accommodate the change from 8-man to 11-man football. In addition a removable dugout was placed alongside the field to allow both football and baseball to be played on the same field. Queen's Grant High School is a charter school in Matthews, North Carolina. The campus is on 32 acres, formerly Idlewild Country Club.
