2017–18 Charleston Cougars Men's Basketball Team
The 2017–18 Charleston Cougars men's basketball team represented the College of Charleston during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Cougars, led by fourth-year head coach Earl Grant (basketball), Earl Grant, played their home games at the TD Arena in Charleston, South Carolina as members of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA). They finished the season 26–8, 14–4 in CAA play, to share the regular season title with 2017–18 Northeastern Huskies men's basketball team, Northeastern. At the 2018 CAA men's basketball tournament, CAA tournament they defeated 2017–18 Drexel Dragons men's basketball team, Drexel, 2017–18 William & Mary Tribe men's basketball team, William & Mary and Northeastern to become CAA tournament champions. Earl Grant (basketball)
Earl Grant (born December 25, 1976) is an American college basketball coach and the current head coach for the Boston College Eagles men's basketball team. Prior to being named head coach at Boston College, Grant served as head coach at the College of Charleston, as an assistant coach at Clemson University, and an assistant coach for six years under former Charleston assistant coach Gregg Marshall at Wichita State and Winthrop University. Grant also served as an assistant coach at The Citadel. Biography A native of North Charleston, South Carolina, Grant went to R.B. Stall High School. He played college basketball at the NCAA Division II level at Georgia College for two years. He led Georgia College to consecutive Peach Belt Conference championships and the Elite Eight of the 2000 NCAA Tournament. The 2016–17 Towson Tigers men's basketball team represented Towson University during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Tigers, led by sixth year head coach Pat Skerry, played their home games at SECU Arena in Towson, Maryland as members of the Colonial Athletic Association. They finished the season 20–13, 11–7 in CAA play to finish in third place. They defeated Northeastern in the quarterfinals of the CAA tournament to advance to the semifinals where they lost to College of Charleston. Despite a 20 win season, the Tigers declined to participate in a postseason tournament. Ocoee High School is a public secondary school located in Ocoee, Florida, 12.5 miles west of Orlando. The Florida Atlantic Owls men's basketball team represents Florida Atlantic University and competes in the American Athletic Conference of NCAA Division I college basketball. Chevez Brandford Goodwin (born February 27, 1998) is an American professional basketball player for the Kolossos Rodou of the Greek Basketball League (GBL). He played college basketball with the USC Trojans of the Pac-12 Conference, as well as for the College of Charleston Cougars and the Wofford Terriers. High school career Goodwin began his high school career at A. C. Flora High School in Columbia, South Carolina. For his sophomore season, he transferred to Hammond School in Columbia.
