2017–18 Arkansas Razorbacks Men's Basketball Team
The 2017–18 Arkansas Razorbacks men's basketball team represented the University of Arkansas in the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was led by Mike Anderson, who was in his seventh season. The Razorbacks played their home games at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville, Arkansas as a member of the Southeastern Conference. They finished the season 23–12, 10–8 in SEC play to finish in a three-way tie for fourth place. As the No. 6 seed in the SEC tournament, they defeated South Carolina and Florida before losing in the semifinals to Tennessee. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament where they lost in the first round to Butler. Mike Anderson (basketball, Born 1959)
Michael Andre Anderson (born December 12, 1959) is an American basketball coach, most recently the head coach of the St. John's Red Storm. He came to St. John's after previously serving as head coach at UAB, Missouri and Arkansas. He also served as an assistant/associate head coach under Nolan Richardson at Arkansas for 17 years. Over his 20 seasons as a head coach, Anderson has compiled a 414–235 record, 11 20-win campaigns, 9 NCAA Tournament appearances, two Sweet 16 berths and a run to the 2009 Elite Eight. Anderson is one of just 3 current Division I head coaches with 15+ years of experience and no losing seasons, along with Mark Few and Tom Izzo. Daniel Gafford (born October 1, 1998) is an American professional basketball player for the Dallas Mavericks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Arkansas Razorbacks and was drafted in the second round of the 2019 NBA draft by the Chicago Bulls. He plays both the power forward and center positions. Moses Kingsley (born November 16, 1994) is a Nigerian professional basketball player who last played for Ionikos Nikaias of the Greek Basket League. He played college basketball for the Arkansas Razorbacks. College career In his first two years at Arkansas, Kingsley played behind Bobby Portis. He had a breakout junior season, averaging 15.9 points and 9.3 rebounds per game and flirted with the 2016 NBA draft but decided to return. Coming into his senior year, he was named preseason SEC Player of the year.
