2017 Women's South American Volleyball Championship
The 2017 Women's South American Volleyball Championship was the 32nd edition of the Women's South American Volleyball Championship held in Cali, Colombia and organised by South America's governing volleyball body, the Confederación Sudamericana de Voleibol (CSV). Tandara Caixeta
Tandara Alves Caixeta (born 30 October 1988) is a Brazilian professional volleyball player. She plays for the Brazil women's national volleyball team and for Sesc-Rio in the Brazilian Superliga. She competed for Brazil in the 2012 Summer Olympics, winning a gold medal. She is tall. She is the daughter of Evaldo Caixeta, a former amateur player with Banco do Brasil Athletic Association. At the age of nine, after trying many different sports, she saw a TV advert and decided to go to a volleyball trial. In 2011, she was selected for the Brazil team for the first time and won gold in the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara before becoming an Olympic champion in London in 2012. She has twice been the top scorer in the Brazilian Women's Superliga. She is known for breaking records in the Brazilian Superliga. The Women's Pan-American Volleyball Cup is a Continental Cup organized by NORCECA with teams from all over America ( North-, South- and Central America, and the Caribbean), that served as a qualifier for the World Grand Prix. The tournament also granted places for the Final Four Women's Volleyball Cup. Now, the event serves as an America qualifier for the Pan American Games classification. South American Men's Volleyball Championship
The Men's South American Volleyball Championship is the official competition for senior men's national volleyball teams of South America, organized by the Confederación Sudamericana de Voleibol ( CSV). The initial gap between championships was variable, but since 1967 they have been awarded every two years. The competition has been dominated by Brazil, which won 33 of the 34 editions. The only tournament not won by Brazil was the 1964 championship, when the team did not compete due to political turmoil in the country. Camila Gómez (born ) is a Colombian volleyball player for the Grand Rapids Rise of the Pro Volleyball Federation and the Colombia women's national volleyball team. She played the 2013 FIVB U20 World Championship and the 2015 FIVB U23 World Championship. She won the silver bronze medal in the 2015 South American Championship and the silver in the 2017 edition being awarded Best Libero in both senior tournaments.
