2017 OFC U-16 Women's Championship
The 2017 OFC U-16 Women's Championship was the 4th edition of the OFC U-16/U-17 Women's Championship, the biennial international youth football championship organised by the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) for the women's under-16/under-17 national teams of Oceania. The tournament was held in Samoa between 4 and 18 August 2017. For this tournament the age limit was lowered from under-17 to under-16. The winners of the tournament qualified for the 2018 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in Uruguay as the OFC representative. Teams All eleven OFC member national teams entered the tournament. It would be the first time in the history of the OFC U-17 Women's Championship that all eleven members of the OFC take part in the tournament. Vanuatu Women's National Under-17 Football Team
The Vanuatu women's national under-17 football team is the second highest women's youth team of women's football in Vanuatu and is controlled by the Vanuatu Football Federation. History Vanuatu participated only one time so far in the OFC U-17 Women's Championship. That was in 2016. They lost two games, but won a game against Fiji. Either, two days earlier they already scored their first goal, in a 7–1 defeat against Papua New Guinea. The goal was scored by Annie Gere. She also was one of the goalscorers against Fiji which means that she is Vanuatu's top scorer with two goals. Grace Wisnewski
Grace Cecilia Wisnewski (born 28 June 2002) is a New Zealand professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder for Wellington Phoenix in A-League Women and the New Zealand national team. Club career In October 2021, Wisnewski joined Wellington Phoenix in A-League Women from Hamilton Wanderers. Having grown up a fan of the club, she joined their first women's team. She played every minute of in all of the eleven games she played in the team's first season; she cut her season short in order to return to New Zealand when it lifted COVID-19 pandemic travel restrictions. She had struggled with her mental health and was contemplating quitting football. The break she took helped her be more excited for football, and six months later she signed a new deal with the Phoenix in September 2022. The Fiji Football Association is the governing body of football in Fiji. It came into existence in 1961. It is the overseeing body of the Fiji National Team and its leagues. ''Gardenia taitensis'', also called Tahitian gardenia or tiaré flower, is a species of plant in the family Rubiaceae. It is an evergreen tropical shrub that grows to tall and has glossy dark green leaves that are long and are oppositely arranged along the stem. Samoa uses UTC+13:00 as standard time. It observed daylight saving time from 2010 to 2021, which it observed during summer in the Southern Hemisphere.
