2017 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Grand Champions Cup
The 2017 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Grand Champions Cup was the 7th staging of the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Champions Cup, a quadrennial international men's volleyball tournament organized by the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB). The tournament was held in Nagoya and Osaka, Japan from 12 to 17 September 2017. 6 national teams from 5 confederations competed in the tournament. Brazil claimed their fourth straight Grand Champions Cup title and fifth overall. Italy and Iran won the silver and the bronze medal respectively. This was Iran's first ever medal at a worldwide-level FIVB tournament. Ricardo Lucarelli from Brazil was elected the MVP. Gianlorenzo Blengini (born 29 December 1971) is an Italian volleyball coach. He is currently in charge of the Bulgaria men's national team. Blengini was promoted from the role of assistant coach in the Italian team after working under former coach, Mauro Berruto. With the Italian national team, Benglini won silver at the World Cup in 2015 and bronze medal at the European Championship. Kalleh Mazandaran Volleyball Club () was an Iranian professional volleyball team based in Amol, Iran. The team was owned by Solico Group - Kalleh Company . They competed in the Iranian Volleyball Super League. The Payambar Azam Arena in Amol, Iran was the home ground of Kalleh. Personal life Igor's wife, Sandra, is a former handball national team player and former head coach of the Serbia women's national handball team.
