2017 Akron Zips Men's Soccer Team
The 2017 Akron Zips men's soccer team represented The University of Akron during the 2017 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. The Akron Zips men's soccer, Zips, played in the Mid-American Conference. The Zips ended their 12-year reign as the MAC regular season champions, as an upstart campaign by 2017 Western Michigan Broncos men's soccer team, Western Michigan saw the Broncos beat the Zips on tiebreaker. In the Mid-American Conference Men's Soccer Tournament, Akron 2017 MAC Men's Soccer Tournament, defeated Western Michigan, 3-1, in the championship match to win their sixth straight MAC Tournament championship. The championship ensured the program's 14th-straight berth into the 2017 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship, 2017 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Tournament. Jared Embick
Jared Embick is an American College soccer in the United States, college soccer coach, currently serving as head coach of the Akron Zips men's soccer team. Career Embick played college soccer at Indiana Wesleyan University. He was the head coach for Missouri Baptist University from 2003 and 2006. He became as assistant at Akron in 2007. Embick was named the national assistant coach of the year for the 2010 season. He became Akron's head coach following the 2012 season. Akron lost in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2013. Niko De Vera
Niko Antonio Berry De Vera (born July 23, 1996) is a Filipino professional football player who plays as a left back for USL League Two club PDX. Career Youth and collegiate De Vera began his career in the youth academy of Portland Timbers in 2013. He made his professional debut in 2013 for the Timbers reserves at age 15. Shane Wiedt (born July 19, 1995) is an American soccer player who plays as a defender for Detroit City in the USL Championship. Career College Wiedt began playing college soccer at the University of Akron in 2014, which he redshirted, but completed three seasons with Akron before transferring to the University of Pittsburgh in 2018 for his final college season. Ezana Kahsay
Ezana Kahsay (born 16 November 1994) is an Eritrean professional footballer who plays as a forward for Polish club Siarka Tarnobrzeg. Early life Kahsay was born in Eritrea. In 2005 his mother fled the country to avoid her son being taken to a military camp which was common for boys who had completed 11th grade. His brother and father had already been taken. David Egbo
David Egbo (born 31 October 1998) is a Nigerian footballer who plays as a forward. Career Youth Egbo was born and raised in Kaduna, Nigeria, before moving to the United States in 2014 on an academic scholarship to attend The Kiski School in Saltsburg, Pennsylvania. Marcel Dominik Zajac (born April 29, 1998) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a forward. Early life Zajac was born in Toronto to Polish parents, and later moved to Mississauga at age three. He began playing soccer at age six with local club Erin Mills SC.
