2017 AFC U-16 Women's Championship Qualification
The 2017 AFC U-16 Women's Championship qualification was a women's under-16 football competition which decided the participating teams of the 2017 AFC U-16 Women's Championship. A total of 24 teams entered the qualification tournament, which decided four of the eight participating teams in the final tournament held in Thailand. Draw Of the 47 AFC member associations, a total of 27 teams entered the competition, with North Korea, Japan, China and the host nation Thailand automatically qualified for the final tournament by their position as the top four teams of the 2015 AFC U-16 Women's Championship and thus did not participate in the qualifying competition, except for Thailand which decided to also participate in the qualifying competition. Sofia Sakalis
Sofia Sakalis (born 11 July 2002) is an Australian association football, soccer player who plays for Melbourne Victory FC (A-League Women), Melbourne Victory in the A-League Women. She has represented Australia in the Australia women's national under-17 soccer team, Australia U-17 and Australia women's national under-20 soccer team, Australia U-20. Sakalis plays in the attacking midfielder position. Early life Sakalis, who is of Greek-Australian background, showed interest in soccer at the age of three and began playing two years later. When she first started playing, coaches assigned her to teams with boys her age but advanced her to play with older boys. Goal Difference
Goal difference, goal differential or points difference is a form of tiebreaker used to rank sport teams which finish on equal points in a league competition. Either "goal difference" or "points difference" is used, depending on whether matches are scored by goals (as in ice hockey and association football) or by points (as in rugby union and basketball). Goal difference is calculated as the number of goals scored in all league matches minus the number of goals conceded, and is sometimes known simply as plus–minus. Goal difference was first introduced as a tiebreaker in association football, at the 1970 FIFA World Cup, and was adopted by the Football League in England five years later.
