The 2017–18 BIBL season is the 10th edition of Balkan International Basketball League The Balkan International Basketball League (BIBL), also known as the Balkan League and as the Delasport BIBL Balkan League for sponsorship reasons, is a multinational professional basketball league featuring clubs primarily from the Balkans. The ... (BIBL). The competition started on 10 October 2017. Competition format Eight teams joined the competition and played a round robin tournament where each team faced the others in home and away games. The top two teams qualified directly for the Final Four, whereas the teams finishing on ranks 3-6 played in additional two-legged playoffs to fill the remaining two places. The league winner will be determined on a Final Four tournament, hosted by Rislki Sportist at Arena Samokov. Basketball Club Levski Sofia (), simply known as Levski (), is a Bulgarian professional basketball club based in the capital Sofia. It is the basketball section of Levski Sofia sports club. History Founded in 1923, Levski has won a record 62 honours: 16 NBL titles, 16 Bulgarian Cups and 3 Bulgarian Supercups/Men/ & 8 Bulgarian championships and 13 Bulgarian Cups/Women/. International titles won by the club are: 1 EuroLeague in 1984, 2 EuroCups in 1978 & 1979 and 3 Balkan Leagues (regional European title) in 2010, 2014 & 2018. Gerti Shima
Gerti Shima (born 9 May 1986 in Tirana) Secretary General of NOC Albania from 2021, an Albanian former professional basketball player who last played for Albanian side KB Tirana in the Albanian Basketball Superliga. Shima transferred for the second time to Sigal Prishtina in January 2016. He made a big comeback to his hometown club, where he has been playing professionally since he was 15 years old, KB Tirana on 3 November 2016. He retired from basketball in September 2021,after he was elected in position of Secretary General in Albania National Olympic Committee. In 2006 he scored 91 points in a game with Valbona against Partizani, a league record that stood for ten years until Genti Lasku scored 100.
