The 2016–17 Western Sydney Wanderers FC season was the club's fifth season since its establishment in 2012. The club participated in the A-League for the fifth time, the FFA Cup for the third time and the AFC Champions League for the third time. Western Sydney Wanderers Football Club (colloquially known as Western Sydney, Wanderers, or simply as WSW) is an Australian professional association football, association football club based in the Western Sydney region of Sydney, New South Wales. FFA Cup
The Australia Cup (currently known as the Hahn Australia Cup for sponsorship reasons) is the national soccer knockout cup competition in Australia. This annual competition is organised by Football Australia (known as Football Federation Australia until 2020). The Australia Cup comprises teams from the top division, A-League Men (known as simply the A-League before the 2021–22 season), as well as those from lower tiers in the Australian soccer league system. Teams enter in progressive stages, with qualifying rounds culminating with the competition proper, starting with the Round of 32. Bruno Piñatares
Bruno Piñatares Prieto (born 25 June 1990) is a Uruguayan footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Paraguayan club Guaraní. Club career Early career Born in Montevideo, Piñatares began his career with Baby Fútbol Dryco. He later played for Nacional before joining Rentistas, where he finished his formation. Piñatares made his first team debut 2007, at the age of 16; his side was eventually relegated from Primera División at the end of the campaign. Scott Neville (born 11 January 1989) is a retired professional soccer player who played as a defender. Born in England, he represented Australia at youth level. Personal life Scott Neville is the son of former English Football League pro, Steve Neville. Steve Neville was playing for Exeter City at the time when Scott was born. Nicolás Martinez (born 25 September 1987), known simply as Nico, is an Argentine professional footballer who last played as a midfielder for Greek Super League 2 club Apollon Smyrnis. His brother is the footballer Juan Manuel Martínez. Club career Martinez was formed in the youth system of Vélez Sarfield, in 2008 he was loaned to Almirante Brown a team in third category of Argentina. Dimas Delgado Morgado (born 6 February 1983), known simply as Dimas, is a Spanish former professional footballer who played as a midfielder, currently assistant manager of Indian Super League club East Bengal. Mitchell Ian Nichols (born 1 May 1989) is an Australian professional footballer who last played as a midfielder for Olympic FC in the National Premier Leagues Queensland.
