2016–17 Turkish Women's Basketball League
The 2016–17 Turkish Women's Basketball League is the 37th edition of the top-flight professional women's basketball league in Turkey. Osmaniye Gençlik, Tosyalı Toyo Osmaniye and Mersin Basketbol GSK, MBK Doğuş Hastanesi promoted to Turkish Women's Basketball League after 2015-2016 season. On June 10 İstanbul BGD (women's basketball), İstanbul BGD and Yakın Doğu Üniversitesi (women's basketball), Yakın Doğu Üniversitesi have merged and it will compete as Yakın Doğu Üniversitesi (women's basketball), Yakın Doğu Üniversitesi. Girne Üniversitesi (women's basketball), Girne Üniversitesi took the spot of the Yakın Doğu Üniversitesi (women's basketball), Yakın Doğu Üniversitesi. Canik is a municipality and district of Samsun Province, Turkey. Its area is 264 km2, and its population is 100,641 (2022). It is located to the east of the city center of Samsun. Botaş SK is a sports club based in Ankara.
