2016–17 Northern Iowa Panthers Men's Basketball Team
The 2016–17 Northern Iowa Panthers men's basketball team represented the University of Northern Iowa during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Panthers, led by eleventh year head coach Ben Jacobson, played their home games at the McLeod Center in Cedar Falls, Iowa, Cedar Falls, IA as members of the Missouri Valley Conference. They finished the regular season 14–16, 9–9 in 2016–17 Missouri Valley Conference men's basketball season, MVC play to finish in a tie for third place. Ben Jacobson
Ben Scott Jacobson (born December 16, 1970) is an American basketball coach. He is the head men's basketball coach at the University of Northern Iowa, a position he has held since 2006. He served as an assistant at North Dakota Fighting Hawks men's basketball, North Dakota, North Dakota State Bison men's basketball, North Dakota State, and Northern Iowa Panthers men's basketball, Northern Iowa before taking over as head coach at Northern Iowa in 2006. Playing career Jacobson attended Mayville-Portland High School. After his senior year he was named 1989's North Dakota Mr. Basketball. Jacobson went on to play collegiately at the University of North Dakota from 1989 to 1993. He was a four-year letterman for the Sioux, a two-year starter, and he ended his career as the school's all-time assist leader. The 2015–16 Texas A&M Aggies men's basketball team represented Texas A&M University in the 2015–16 college basketball season. The team's head coach was Billy Kennedy, in his fifth season. The team played their home games at Reed Arena in College Station, Texas and its fourth season as a member of the Southeastern Conference. They finished the season 28–9, 13–5 in SEC play to win a share of the SEC regular season championship. The Iowa State Cyclones men's basketball team represents Iowa State University (ISU) and competes in the Big 12 Conference of NCAA Division I. The Cyclones play their home games at Hilton Coliseum on Iowa State's campus. History Early years (1908–1980) From 1907 to 1928, the Cyclones played in the Missouri Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Association, managing a few winning records in-conference but no championships. Mount Pleasant is a city in and the county seat of Henry County in the U.S. state of Iowa. The population was 9,274 in the 2020 census, an increase from 8,668 in the 2010 census. UMKC Kangaroos Men's Basketball
The Kansas City Roos men's basketball team represents the University of Missouri–Kansas City in Kansas City, Missouri. Starting off in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the Roos moved to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I level in 1987 as an independent. Wesley Lamar Washpun (born March 26, 1993) is an American basketball player who plays for FC Porto of the Liga Portuguesa de Basquetebol (LPB). He played college basketball for Tennessee and Northern Iowa. High school career Washpun played for Washington High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa under coach Brad Metzger. Marion is a city in Linn County, Iowa, United States. The population was 26,294 at the 2000 census and was 41,535 in 2020, an increase of 58%.
