2016–17 New Jersey Devils Season
The 2016–17 New Jersey Devils season was the 43rd season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on June 11, 1974, and 35th season since the franchise relocated from Colorado prior to the 1982–83 NHL season. New Jersey did not make the postseason for the fifth consecutive year. Also, this is the first time since the 1985–86 season that the Devils finished last in the conference. Metropolitan Division
The National Hockey League's Metropolitan Division (often referred to simply as the "Metro Division") was formed in 2013 as one of the two divisions in the Eastern Conference (NHL), Eastern Conference as part of a league realignment. It is also a successor of the original Atlantic Division (NHL, 1993–2013), Atlantic Division and one of the two successors to the Southeast Division (NHL), Southeast Division. Six of its teams were previously together in the Patrick Division from 1981 to 1993 (one joined in 1982). The New Jersey Devils are a professional ice hockey team based in Newark, New Jersey. The team is a member of the Metropolitan Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). The 2016–17 Anaheim Ducks season was the 24th season for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise that was established on June 15, 1993. The Ducks won the Pacific Division for a fifth straight year and the sixth time in franchise history. Anaheim faced the wild-card entrant Calgary Flames in the opening round of the playoffs, where they defeated them in a four-game sweep. They then defeated the Edmonton Oilers in the next round, four games to three. The Ducks then went on to face the Nashville Predators in the Western Conference Finals, where they lost in six games. The 2016–17 Tampa Bay Lightning season was the 25th season for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise that was established on December 16, 1991. Despite earning 94 points, the Lightning failed to qualify for the 2017 Stanley Cup playoffs since 2013, ending their three-season playoff streak. As of the 2024–25 season, this is the most recent season the Lightning missed the playoffs. Tate Rink
Tate Rink is a 2,648-seat hockey rink in West Point, New York. It is home to the men's ice hockey team of the United States Military Academy. It is also home to the Army's youth hockey team, the West Point Jr. Black Knights. It was built in as part of the Major Donald W. Holleder Center athletic complex, which also includes Christl Arena. Army's first game in the arena was October 25, 1985, a 5–0 win over Ryerson Polytechnical Institute (now Toronto Metropolitan University) of Toronto. The PPL Center is an 8,500-seat capacity indoor sports arena in Allentown, Pennsylvania. It opened on September 10, 2014. Anders Lindbäck (born 3 May 1988) is a Sweden, Swedish professional ice hockey goaltender who currently plays for Färjestad BK in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). Scott Wedgewood (born August 14, 1992) is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender for the Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League (NHL). Wedgewood was selected by the New Jersey Devils in the third round (84th overall) of the 2010 NHL entry draft.
