2016–17 Nevada Wolf Pack Men's Basketball Team
The 2016–17 Nevada Wolf Pack men's basketball team represented the University of Nevada, Reno during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Wolf Pack, led by second-year head coach Eric Musselman, played their home games at the Lawlor Events Center in Reno, Nevada, as members of the Mountain West Conference. They finished the season 28–7, 14–4 in Mountain West play to win the Mountain West regular season championship. They defeated Utah State, Fresno State, and Colorado State to win the Mountain West tournament championship. They received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament where they lost in the first round to Iowa State. Eric Musselman
Eric Musselman (born November 19, 1964) is an American college basketball coach who is currently the head coach at the University of Southern California. He is the former head coach at the University of Arkansas, University of Nevada, Reno, the Sacramento Kings and the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Between head coaching stints at Golden State and Sacramento, Musselman served as an assistant for the Memphis Grizzlies under Mike Fratello. He moved to the college coaching ranks in 2012 as an assistant at Arizona State. From 2014 to 2019, he was the head coach for the Nevada Wolf Pack.
