2016–17 Missouri Tigers Men's Basketball Team
The 2016–17 Missouri Tigers men's basketball team represented the University of Missouri in the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Their head coach was Kim Anderson, who was in his third year as the head coach at Missouri. The team played its home games at Mizzou Arena in Columbia, Missouri, and was in its fifth season in the Southeastern Conference. They finished the season 8–24, 2–16 in SEC play to finish in a tie for 13th place. As the No. 14 seed in the SEC tournament, they defeated Auburn in the first round before losing in the second round to Ole Miss. On March 5, 2017, head coach Kim Anderson was asked to step down as head coach of the Tigers following the season. He was allowed to coach the team in the SEC tournament. Kim Anderson (basketball)
Keith Kim Anderson (born May 12, 1955) is an American former basketball coach and most recently was head coach for the Pittsburg State Gorillas. Career Anderson previously served as the men's basketball head coach of the Missouri Tigers men's basketball, Missouri Tigers. He led the Central Missouri Mules to back-to-back Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association, MIAA championships and three appearances in the NCAA Division II NCAA Men's Division II Basketball Championship, Final Four in 2007, 2009 and winning the championship in 2014. He led the Mules to the NCAA Men's Division II Basketball Championship in 2014 by defeating West Liberty 84–77. He played collegiately for the Missouri Tigers, University of Missouri. The Belleville Learning Center, previously known as Lindenwood University–Belleville and Lindenwood Belleville, is a defunct satellite campus of Lindenwood University. The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's basketball program represents intercollegiate men's basketball at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. JaKeenan Tyelle Gant (born May 6, 1996) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Ottawa BlackJacks of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). He played college basketball for the Missouri Tigers and the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns.
