2016–17 Kent State Golden Flashes Women's Basketball Team
The 2016–17 Kent State Golden Flashes women's basketball team represented Kent State University during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Golden Flashes, led by first year head coach Todd Starkey, played their home games at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center, also known as the MAC Center, as members of the East Division of the Mid-American Conference. After finishing the 2015–16 Kent State Golden Flashes women's basketball team, 2015–16 season with an overall record of 6–23 and 3–15 in MAC play, the Flashes finished the 2016–17 regular season with a 19–11 overall record and 13–5 in MAC play. They won their first East division title since 2005, clinching a share on March 1 and winning it outright on March 4. Todd Starkey
Todd Starkey (born June 5, 1971) is an American basketball coach who is currently the head women's basketball coach at Kent State University. Career He was previously an assistant coach at Indiana University Bloomington and was also the head women's basketball coach at Lenoir–Rhyne University from 2005 to 2014, where he won a national coach of the year award in 2009. Williams Arena
Williams Arena is an indoor arena located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is the home arena for the University of Minnesota's men's and women's basketball teams. It also housed the men's hockey team until 1993, when it moved into its own building, 3M Arena at Mariucci. The building is popularly known as The Barn, and its student section is known as "The Barnyard". Fairborn is a city in Greene County, Ohio, United States. The population was 34,620 at the 2020 census. It is a suburb of Dayton and part of the Dayton metropolitan area. Nutter Center
The Nutter Center is a multi-purpose arena located at Wright State University, in Fairborn, Ohio. It mainly serves as the home court of the Wright State Raiders men's and women's basketball teams. It is also regularly used as a music venue for touring concerts and shows and for area high school graduation ceremonies. History A local businessman and inventor, Ervin J.
