2016–17 Football Superleague Of Kosovo
The 2016–17 Football Superleague of Kosovo season, also known as the Vala Superleague of Kosovo for sponsorship reasons was the 18th season of top-tier football in Kosovo. The season began on 19 August 2016 and concluded on 28 May 2017; the relegation play-offs will follow. Feronikeli are the defending champions. A total of 12 teams are competing in the league: 10 sides from the 2015–16 season and two promoted from the Liga e Parë. The 2016–17 season will be the first full season that the Football Federation of Kosovo will be a member of FIFA and UEFA. Qualification for the UEFA Champions League will be determined at the end of the season, pending re-evaluation of the league's adherence to UEFA Financial Fair Play Regulations and stadium standards. The Football Superleague of Kosovo (), also known as the ALBI MALL Superleague of Kosovo () for sponsorship reasons with Albi Mall, is the top level of the Football in Kosovo#Men's, Kosovar football league system. The Superleague is organized by the Football Federation of Kosovo and the division currently has a 10-team format. The clubs play each other four times during the season for a 36-match schedule. At the end of the season, the bottom two teams in the division are relegated to the second tier, First Football League of Kosovo. The Football Federation of Kosovo (; FFK) is the governing body of football in Kosovo, with headquarters in Pristina. The Football Federation of Kosovo was established in 1946 as a branch of the Football Association of Yugoslavia, it has since become independent and was headed by Fadil Vokrri until his sudden death in 2018. The Shahin Haxhiislami Stadium is a multi-use stadium located in Peć, Kosovo. It primarily hosts football matches and serves as the home ground for KF Besa Pejë, a team in the Kosovar Superliga. FC Vushtrria is a football club based in Vushtrri, Kosovo. The club was founded in 1922, and currently play their home games at the 7,000 seat capacity Ferki Aliu Stadium in the city of Vushtrri.
