2016–17 Brentford F.C. Season
The 2016–17 season was Brentford F.C., Brentford's 127th year in existence and third consecutive season in the Football League Championship, Championship. The club also participated in the FA Cup and Football League Cup, League Cup. The season covers the period from 1 July 2016 to 30 June 2017. Season review July Brentford began the 2016–17 season with various transfers. Captain Jake Bidwell joined arch-rivals Queens Park Rangers F.C., Queens Park Rangers for an undisclosed fee on 1 July. Brentford F
Brentford is a suburban town in West London, England and part of the London Borough of Hounslow. It lies at the confluence of the River Brent and the Thames, west of Charing Cross. Its economy has diverse company headquarters buildings which mark the start of the M4 corridor; in transport it also has two railway stations and Boston Manor Underground station on its northwest border with Hanwell. Scott Hogan
Scott Andrew Hogan (born 13 April 1992) is a professional footballer who plays as a forward for club Milton Keynes Dons. Hogan played in the youth system at Rochdale but was released in 2010. He entered non-league football, playing for Woodley Sports, FC Halifax Town, Mossley, Stocksbridge Park Steels, Ashton United and Hyde before a return to Rochdale. He scored 17 goals in 2013–14 which prompted Brentford to sign him in July 2014 for a fee of £750,000. Hogan spent two and a half seasons at Griffin Park and moved to Aston Villa in January 2017. He struggled to establish himself at Villa Park and spent time on loan at Sheffield United in 2018–19 and at Stoke City and Birmingham City in 2019–20 before rejoining Birmingham on a permanent contract in September 2020. Lewis Kenneth Macleod (born 16 June 1994) is a Scottish former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He came to prominence with Rangers in Scotland and was a product of the club's academy. He later played in England for Brentford, Wigan Athletic and Plymouth Argyle. Jack William O'Connell (born 29 March 1994) is an English former professional footballer who played as a centre-back. O'Connell began his career at Blackburn Rovers and came to prominence after captaining Rochdale to promotion from League Two in the 2013–14 season. John Patrick Egan (born 20 October 1992) is an Irish professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for EFL Championship club Hull City and the Republic of Ireland national team. Beginning his career at Sunderland, he had loan spells with Crystal Palace, Sheffield United, Bradford City and Southend United, but was released by the Wearside club without making an appearance for the first team. Daniel Ian Bentley (born 13 July 1993) is an English professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for club Wolverhampton Wanderers. He has played in the English Football League for Southend United, Brentford and Bristol City. Career Southend United Bentley was born in Basildon, Essex and began his career as a centre back with hometown club Hutton Medway.
