2016 WNBA Season
The 2016 WNBA season was the 20th season of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Its regular season began on May 14 when the Indiana Fever hosted the Dallas Wings and concluded on September 18, with a Seattle Storm defeat of the Chicago Sky. The playoffs began on September 21, with a new playoff format. To increase the level of competition, instead of the top 4 seeds from each conference advancing, the 8 teams with the best overall records, regardless of conference, advanced. The top two teams, in this case the Minnesota Lynx and the Los Angeles Sparks, each received a double bye to the semi-final round. The number 3 and number 4 seeds, in this case the New York Liberty and the Chicago Sky, received one bye to the second round. Women's National Basketball Association
The Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) is a women's professional basketball league in the United States. The league comprises 13 teams (scheduled to expand to 15 in 2026). 2016 WNBA Finals
The 2016 WNBA Finals, officially the WNBA Finals 2016 presented by Verizon for sponsorship reasons, was the best-of-five championship series for the 2016 WNBA season, 2016 season of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The top-seeded 2016 Minnesota Lynx season, Minnesota Lynx held home court advantage in the Finals, but lost three games to two to the second-seeded 2016 Los Angeles Sparks season, Los Angeles Sparks. Shenise Johnson
Shenise Johnson (born December 8, 1990) is an American basketball player. She was born in Rochester, New York, Johnson went to Rush–Henrietta Senior High School in Henrietta and played college basketball for the Miami Hurricanes at the University of Miami. She was drafted by the San Antonio Stars with the fifth overall pick of the 2012 WNBA draft. The Washington Mystics are an American professional basketball team based in Washington, D.C. Emma Meesseman (born 13 May 1993) is a Belgian professional basketball player for Fenerbahçe S.K. (women's basketball), Fenerbahçe of the Women's Basketball Super League and EuroLeague Women.
