The 2016 Taça 12 de Novembro is the 4th staging of the Taça 12 de Novembro. Aitana will enter as the defending champions after winning the 2015 edition by defeating Dili Institute of Technology (DIT) 3-2 in the final. Ponta Leste won the title this season after beating Assalam 1-0 in the final. Schedule and format Qualified teams The following teams are qualified for the competition. Taça 12 de Novembro is an annual knockout association football competition in men's domestic Timor football. This competition was organised by Liga Futebol Amadora and FFTL. Competition format Beginning in August, the competition proceeds as a knockout tournament throughout, consisting of three rounds, a semi-final and then a final, in September. Qualification for subsequent competitions Super Taça Liga Futebol Amadora The Taça 12 de Novembro winners qualify for the following season's single-match Super Taça Liga Futebol Amadora, the traditional season opener played against the previous season's Liga Futebol Amadora champions (or the Liga Futebol Amadora runners-up if the Taça 12 de Novembro winners also won the league – the double). Karketu Dili Futebol Clube is a Timorese professional football club based in Dili, that competes in the Liga Futebol Amadora, the top tier domestic league since its inception in 2016.
