Mosfellsbær (, colloquially Mosó) is a town in south-west Iceland, east of the country's capital, Reykjavík. The town of Mosfellsbær is a 15-minute drive from midtown Reykjavík. The district includes the Leiruvogur cove, which forms part of Kollafjörður fjord. Three rivers empty into the cove: Leirvogsá, Kaldakvísl and Varmá. Andrea Rán Snæfeld Hauksdóttir (born 28 January 1996) is an Icelandic professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for USL Super League side Tampa Bay Sun. She debuted for the Iceland women's national team in 2016. College Andrea played college soccer for the University of South Florida. She was named the American Athletic Conference midfielder of the year in 2018 and 2019. Professional Andrea played for Breiðablik from 2011 to 2021. She was loaned to Le Havre for part of the 2021 season and later signed with Houston Dash. In 2022 she signed with Club América of the Liga MX Femenil. Hauksdóttir returned to play in the United States in July 2024, signing with Tampa Bay Sun in the USL Super League. Harpa Þorsteinsdóttir
Harpa Þorsteinsdóttir (born 27 June 1986) is an Icelandic former footballer who played as a striker. During her career, she won both the Úrvalsdeild and the Icelandic Cup three times. She scored 181 goals in 252 matches in the Úrvalsdeild, and was the league's top scorer on three occasions. She played 67 matches for the Iceland national team, scoring 19 goals. Club career She played for Stjarnan from 2002 to 2007 before moving to Breiðablik. In 2011, she moved back to Stjarnan. In 2013 Harpa was top goalscorer in the Úrvalsdeild kvenna with 28 goals in 18 games. On 17 August 2018, Harpa tore her anterior cruciate ligament in the Icelandic cup finals where Stjarnan lost 1–2 against Breiðablik. After missing the 2019 season, she announced her retirement in March 2020. Ásvellir is a sports venue in Hafnarfjörður, Iceland with a gym, pool, basketball court and football field. Two decades ago in 1996 a company and the Hafnarfjörður council signed an agreement to subsidize the construction of the complex. Finished in 1999, it started to host tournaments in 2000. Refurbishment In 2014, the Ásvellir gym part was refurbished by polishing the gym surface, grinding up the floor and inserting the lines again. The Stjarnan women's football team is the women's football department of the Ungmennafélagið Stjarnan multi-sport club. It is based in Garðabær, Iceland, and currently plays in the Úrvalsdeild kvenna, the top-tier women's football league in Iceland. Hafnarfjörður (), officially Hafnarfjarðarkaupstaður (), is a port town and municipality in Iceland, located about south of Reykjavík. Sveindís Jane Jónsdóttir (born 5 June 2001) is an Icelandic footballer who plays for Frauen-Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg and the Icelandic national team. In 2020, she won the Icelandic championship with Breiðablik, while also being named the Úrvalsdeild Player of the Year and winning the Úrvalsdeild Golden Boot award. Garðabær () is a municipality in the Capital Region of Iceland. History Garðabær is a growing town in the Capital Region. It is the sixth largest town in Iceland with a population of 13,872 (Sept 1, 2013). The site of Garðabær has been inhabited since Iceland was first settled in the 9th century.
