The 2016 Clásica de San Sebastián was the 36th edition of the Clásica de San Sebastián road bicycle race. The race took place on 30 July 2016. It was won by Dutch rider Bauke Mollema. 2016 UCI World Tour
The 2016 UCI World Tour was a competition that included 27 road bicycle racing, road cycling events throughout the 2016 in men's road cycling, 2016 men's cycling season. It was the eighth edition of the ranking system launched by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in 2009. The competition started with the opening stage of the 2016 Tour Down Under, Tour Down Under on 19 January, and concluded with 2016 Il Lombardia, Il Lombardia on 1 October. Spain's Alejandro Valverde was the two-times defending champion. Valverde was unable to defend his title, as he finished fourth in the individual rankings. The title was won for the first time by Slovakian rider Peter Sagan for the team, scoring 669 points over the course of the season. Cofidis () is a French professional road bicycle racing cycling team, team sponsored by a money-lending company, Cofidis. It was started in 1996 by Cyrille Guimard, the former manager of Bernard Hinault, Greg LeMond and Laurent Fignon of the Renault–Elf–Gitane team of the 1980s. The team's sponsor has supported the team despite repeated problems such as doping scandals. Nicolas Roche (; born 3 July 1984) is an Ireland, Irish cyclist, who competes in gravel cycling for his own NR GRVL team.
