2016 Big West Conference Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2016 Big West Conference men's basketball tournament took place from March 10–12, 2016 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. 2015–16 Hawaii Rainbow Warriors basketball team, Hawaii won the tournament, defeating 2015–16 Long Beach State 49ers men's basketball team, Long Beach State in the championship, and received the conference's automatic bid to the 2016 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament, 2016 NCAA tournament. 2015–16 Cal State Northridge Matadors men's basketball team, Cal State Northridge did not participate in the tournament due to a self-imposed postseason ban for academic fraud violations. Seeds The top 8 conference teams were eligible for the tournament. Teams were seeded by record within the conference, with a tiebreaker system to seed teams with identical conference records. Honda Center
Honda Center (formerly known as the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim) is an indoor arena located in Anaheim, California. The arena is home to the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League. Originally named the Anaheim Arena during construction, it was completed in 1993 at a cost of US$123 million. Locally based Arrowhead Water paid $15 million for the naming rights over 10 years in October 1993. In the short period of time after the Mighty Ducks franchise was awarded and before the naming rights deal with Arrowhead, Disney referred to the Arena as the Pond of Anaheim.
