2015–16 UNLV Runnin' Rebels Basketball Team
The 2015–16 UNLV Runnin' Rebels basketball team represented the University of Nevada, Las Vegas during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Runnin' Rebels were led by fifth-year head coach Dave Rice (basketball), Dave Rice until he was fired on January 10, 2016. They were then led by interim head coach Todd Simon (basketball), Todd Simon for the remainder of the season. They played their home games at the Thomas & Mack Center in Paradise, Nevada as members of the Mountain West Conference. They finished the season 18–15, 8–10 in Mountain West play, to finish in a tie for sixth place. Dave Rice (basketball)
David Wayne Rice (born August 29, 1968) is an American college basketball coach for Salt Lake Community College. He is also the former head men's basketball coach at UNLV where he ranks as the program's third-winningest coach. He spent the 2016-2017 season as an assistant coach at the University of Nevada, Reno, and an assistant coach at the University of Washington for three seasons (2017–2021). Rice has served as a Division I assistant coach for 22 seasons. His first 11 seasons as a college assistant he spent at UNLV with those teams tallying 205 wins during thatime  In his most recent 11 seasons as an assistant coach, Rice has worked at Utah State, BYU, Nevada and Washington. The Chaminade Silverswords are the 12 varsity athletic teams that represent Chaminade University of Honolulu, located in Honolulu, Hawaii, in NCAA Division II intercollegiate sports. Panaca is an unincorporated town in eastern Lincoln County, Nevada, United States, on State Route 319, about east of U.S. Route 93, near the border with Utah. Its elevation is above sea level. Christian Marquise Wood (born September 27, 1995) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The 2015 NBA draft was held on June 25, 2015, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. It was televised nationally in the U.S. by ESPN. National Basketball Association (NBA) teams took turns selecting amateur U.S. college basketball players and other eligible players, including international players.
