2015–16 UNC Greensboro Spartans Men's Basketball Team
The 2015–16 UNC Greensboro Spartans men's basketball team represented the University of North Carolina at Greensboro during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Spartans, led by fifth year head coach Wes Miller, play their home games at the Greensboro Coliseum, with two home games at Fleming Gymnasium, and are members of the Southern Conference. They finished the season 15–19, 10–8 in SoCon play to finish in a tie for fifth place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the SoCon tournament to Furman. They were invited to the College Basketball Invitational where they defeated Houston Baptist in the first round before losing in the quarterfinals to Ohio. Wes Miller
Warren Weston Miller (born January 28, 1983) is an American basketball coach and former player, who is the head men's basketball coach at the University of Cincinnati. Born in Greensboro, North Carolina, he played at the collegiate level for James Madison University and the University of North Carolina–Chapel Hill, where he graduated in 2007. Professionally, Miller played for London Capital of the British Basketball League. He was previously head coach at UNC Greensboro, and served stints as an assistant coach at Elon University and High Point University. Playing career A native of Greensboro, North Carolina, Miller attended New Hampton Prep in New Hampton, New Hampshire. Miller played one year at James Madison before transferring to North Carolina to play for Roy Williams, where he successfully walked on to the basketball team. Francis Alonso
Francisco Fernando Alonso Martínez (born 25 May 1996) is a Spanish professional basketball player for CB Breogán of the Spanish Liga ACB. He played college basketball for the UNC Greensboro Spartans. Early life and career Alonso was born and brought up in Málaga, Spain. The son of former basketball player and coach Paco Alonso, he began playing basketball from a young age. He played youth basketball for Unicaja Málaga and competed for Clinicas Rincón Axarquía. Alonso became friends with his Unicaja teammate Domantas Sabonis, a future NBA All-Star. Connelly Springs, North Carolina
Connelly Springs is a town in Burke County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 1,669 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Hickory– Lenoir– Morganton Metropolitan Statistical Area. James L. Dickey III (born November 28, 1996) is an American basketball player for the Pelita Jaya of the Indonesian Basketball League (IBL). He plays the power forward and center positions.
