2015–16 UMKC Kangaroos Men's Basketball Team
The 2015–16 UMKC Kangaroos men's basketball team represented the University of Missouri–Kansas City during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Kangaroos, led by third year head coach Kareem Richardson, played their home games off-campus at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Missouri as a member of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). They finished the season 12–19, 4–10 in WAC play to finish in a tie for sixth place. They were victorious over the Utah Valley University in the WAC tournament quarterfinal but were defeated by New Mexico State University in the semifinal. Western Athletic Conference
The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) is an NCAA Division I conference. The WAC covers a broad expanse of the Western United States with member institutions located in Arizona, California, Texas, Utah and Washington (state), Washington. Due to most of the conference's College football, football-playing members leaving the WAC for other affiliations, the conference discontinued football as a sponsored sport after the 2012 NCAA Division I FBS football season, 2012–13 season, left the NCAA's NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision, Football Bowl Subdivision (formerly known as Division I-A) and became one of the NCAA's eleven Division I non-football conferences. The U.S. Air Force Academy Preparatory School—usually referred to as "the Prep School" or "The P School"—was established in May 1961.
