The 2015–16 Southampton F.C. season was the club's 17th season in the Premier League and their 39th in the top division of Football in England, English football. It was also the club's first season in a UEFA competitions, European competition since 2003–04 Southampton F.C. season, 2003–04. Southampton finished the season in sixth place in the Premier League, having won 18, drawn 9 and lost 11 of their 38 matches. Samuel James Gallagher (born 15 September 1995) is an English professional footballer who plays as a striker for club Stoke City. Originally a member of the Plymouth Argyle youth academy, Gallagher joined Southampton in 2012 and earned a call-up to the first team at the beginning of the 2013–14 season. He spent time out on loan at Milton Keynes Dons, Blackburn Rovers and Birmingham City before he joined Blackburn on a permanent basis in July 2019. Emmanuel Mayuka (born 21 November 1990) is a Zambian professional footballer who plays as a striker for the NAPSA Stars and the Zambia national team.
