2015–16 San Diego Toreros Men's Basketball Team
The 2015–16 San Diego Toreros men's basketball team represented the University of San Diego during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. This was head coach Lamont Smith's first season at San Diego. The Toreros competed in the West Coast Conference and played their home games at the Jenny Craig Pavilion. They finished the season 9–21, 4–14 in WCC play to finish in last place. They lost in the first round of the WCC tournament to Loyola Marymount. Previous season The Toreros finished the season 15–16, 8–10 in WCC play to finish in fifth place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the WCC tournament to Pepperdine. Lamont Smith (basketball)
Allen Lamont Smith (born October 19, 1975) is an American former college basketball coach, who was most recently an assistant coach at the University of Texas at El Paso for the UTEP Miners men's basketball team. He was previously the head coach at his alma mater San Diego Toreros men's basketball, University of San Diego, which he left in March 2018. Smith resigned from UTEP in March 2019 after the University of San Diego revealed that Smith was accused of accepting a bribe in the 2019 college admissions bribery scandal. California Golden Bears Men's Basketball
The California Golden Bears men's basketball team is the men's college basketball team representing the University of California, Berkeley, in NCAA Division I, currently playing in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). The program has seen success throughout the years, culminating in a national championship in 1959 under coach Pete Newell, and the team has reached the final four two other times, in 1946 and 1960. The team plays its home games at Haas Pavilion, which was long known as Harmon Gym before being heavily renovated with money donated in part by the owners of Levi Strauss & Co.
