2015–16 SHL Season
The 2015–16 SHL season was the 41st season of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). The regular season began in September 2015 and ended in March 2016. The playoffs were played in March–April 2016. Modo Hockey and Karlskrona HK were forced to play in the SHL qualifiers to defend their SHL status. Karlskrona won their series against AIK in five games while Modo lost to Leksands IF over seven games. Therefore, Leksand were promoted to the SHL on the expense of Modo. Swedish Hockey League
The Swedish Hockey League (SHL; ) is a professional ice hockey league in Sweden and the highest level of the ice hockey in Sweden, Swedish ice hockey system. The league currently consists of 14 teams. Brynäs IF
Brynäs IF is a Swedish professional ice hockey team from Gävle. The club currently plays in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), promoted from the HockeyAllsvenskan, the second tier of ice hockey in Sweden, following the 2023–24 season. The club played in the top-tier Swedish league from 1960 to 2023 (1960-75 called Division I, 1975-2023 called the SHL), a total of 63 seasons, longer than any other Swedish club, before suffering relegation for the first time in franchise history at the conclusion of the 2022–23 season. They have won the Swedish championship 13 times, second only to Djurgården with 16 wins. Andrew Gordon (ice Hockey)
Andrew Jacob Gordon (born December 13, 1985) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey right winger. He played in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Washington Capitals, Anaheim Ducks and the Vancouver Canucks. Playing career Gordon was born and raised in Nova Scotia, where he also played his minor hockey. He was a member of the Dartmouth Subways Midget 'AAA' team that won the silver medal at the 2002 Air Canada Cup, Canada's national midget championship. The next season, Gordon joined the Notre Dame Hounds of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. In 2004, he was drafted by the Washington Capitals (7th round, 197th overall). Andreas Karl Johnsson (born 21 November 1994) is a Swedish professional ice hockey Winger (ice hockey), winger for Skellefteå AIK of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). Johnsson played with the Toronto Maple Leafs, New Jersey Devils, San Jose Sharks, and Pittsburgh Penguins in the National Hockey League (NHL). Patrik Zackrisson (born March 27, 1987) is a professional Swedish ice hockey centre. He is currently playing for Leksands IF of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). Playing career Zackrisson spent his junior career with Frölunda HC before moving to play one season with Rögle BK in the HockeyAllsvenskan, and then signing with Linköpings HC, where he spent four seasons. The Malmö Redhawks (colloquially referred to simply as Malmö or by past abbreviation MIF) are a Swedish professional ice hockey team based in Malmö which plays in the SHL, with Malmö Arena as the venue for home games. The Växjö Lakers Hockey Club (often referred to as the Växjö Lakers or VLH) are a Swedish professional ice hockey club from Växjö in Sweden.
