2015–16 Rhode Island Rams Women's Basketball Team
The 2015–16 Rhode Island Rams women's basketball team represented the University of Rhode Island during the 2015–16 college basketball season. The Rams, led by second year head coach Daynia La-Force, were members of the Atlantic 10 Conference and played their home games at the Ryan Center. They finished the season 12–18, 5–11 in A-10 to finish a 4 way tie for tenth place. They advanced to the quarterfinals of the A-10 women's tournament, where they lost to Saint Louis. 2015–16 media All Rams home games and most conference road games that aren't televised will be shown on the A-10 Digital Network. Daynia La-Force
Daynia La-Force is an American women's basketball coach. She spent 25 years coaching college women's basketball. In 2021, She was an assistant coach with the WNBA's Atlanta Dream. She played college basketball at the Georgetown University. In May 2014, she was hired as head coach of Rhode Island Rams women's basketball after head coaching stints at NCAA Division II, Division II University of New Haven and NCAA Division I, Division I Northeastern Huskies women's basketball, Northeastern University. She also served as an assistant coach at St. John's Red Storm women's basketball, St. John's and LIU Brooklyn Blackbirds women's basketball, LIU Brooklyn. An African American, La-Force became the first minority woman head coach in URI history when she was hired in May 2014.
