2015–16 Oakland Golden Grizzlies Men's Basketball Team
The 2015–16 Oakland Golden Grizzlies men's basketball team represented Oakland University during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Golden Grizzlies were led by 32nd year head coach Greg Kampe and played their home games at the Athletics Center O'rena. They finished the season 23–12, 13–5 in Horizon League play to finish in a tie for second place. They lost in the semifinals of the Horizon League tournament to Wright State. They were invited to the inaugural Vegas 16 where they defeated Towson and East Tennessee State to advance to the championship game where they lost to Old Dominion. Preseason The Oakland team traveled to Spain for a week at the end of August. During the trip, they defeated each of the three European professional teams they faced. Greg Kampe
Greg Charles Kampe (; born December 9, 1955) is an American college basketball coach and the current head men's basketball coach at Oakland University. He guided the Oakland Golden Grizzlies men's basketball, Golden Grizzlies to their first NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship, NCAA Division I tournament in 2005 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, 2005, winning in the First Four round. Kampe, a member of the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame, is one of nine Division I basketball coaches who have been at the same school for at least 25 seasons. Kampe won The Summit League's coach of the year four times, the most recent being in 2010 and 2011. Kampe won his 500th career game January 26, 2013. On May 30, 2017, Kampe was one of eight new inductees announced for the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in Detroit. The ceremony took place on September 15, 2017. 2016 NBA Draft
The 2016 NBA draft was held on June 23, 2016, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. It was televised nationally in the U.S. by ESPN, and was live streamed for the first time in NBA draft history by The Vertical. National Basketball Association (NBA) teams took turns selecting amateur U.S. college basketball players and other eligible players, including international players. The draft lottery took place during the playoffs, on May 17, 2016. Dwight D. Eisenhower Senior High School, occasionally referred to as simply "Ike," is a high school located in the Metropolitan Detroit suburb of Shelby Township, Michigan, United States. It is consistently ranked as the top performing high school in Macomb County. History Opened in 1972, Eisenhower is one of two public high school located in Shelby Township. Until the 1990s, the school had a Washington Township mailing address. As the surrounding area began to develop, the zip code boundaries changed and the school fell into a Shelby Township zip code.
