2015–16 Montana State Bobcats Men's Basketball Team
The 2015–16 Montana State Bobcats men's basketball team represented Montana State University during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bobcats, led by second year head coach Brian Fish, played their home games at Worthington Arena and were members of the Big Sky Conference. They finished the season 14–17, 9–9 in Big Sky play to finish in seventh place. They lost in the first round of the Big Sky tournament to Sacramento State. Previous season The Bobcats finished the season 7–23, 4–14 in Big Sky play to finish in a three-way tie for tenth place. They failed to qualify for the Big Sky tournament. Brian Fish
Brian Fish (born December 20, 1965) is an American college basketball coach, most recently serving as head coach for the Montana State Bobcats men's basketball team. Fish is currently the director of player personnel for the University of Georgia Bulldogs basketball team. Playing career A first-team all-state selection from Seymour High School in Indiana, Fish went on to play college basketball at Western Kentucky and Marshall. He graduated from the latter in 1989. Coaching career After graduation, Fish served as a graduate assistant at his alma mater under first-year head coach Dana Altman. He would stay on staff with the Thundering Herd until 1992, when he would rejoin Altman at Kansas State from 1992 to 1994, and follow Altman to Creighton where he served as an assistant from 1994 to 1996. Emporia State Hornets
The Emporia State Hornets are the athletic teams that represent Emporia State University (ESU). The women's basketball and softball teams use the name Lady Hornets. The university's athletic program fields 15 varsity teams in 11 sports all of whom have combined to win 50 conference championships as well as three national championships (1 NAIA, 1 AIAW and 1 NCAA). Corky the Hornet serves as the mascot representing the teams, and the school colors are black and gold. Emporia State participates in the NCAA Division II and has been a member of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) since 1991. The university's athletic director is David Spafford, who began his tenure on July 17, 2022. The Hornet football team has been coached by Garin Higgins since 2007.
