2015–16 Memphis Tigers Men's Basketball Team
The 2015–16 Memphis Tigers men's basketball team represented the University of Memphis in the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season, the 95th season of Tiger basketball. The Tigers, led by seventh year head coach Josh Pastner, played their home games at the FedExForum. The season marked the third season the Tigers have participated in the American Athletic Conference. The Tigers finished with a record of 19–15, 8–10 in AAC play to finish in seventh place in conference. The Tigers defeated Tulsa and Tulane in the AAC tournament before losing to UConn in the championship. For the second consecutive year, the Tigers did not participate in a postseason tournament. Josh Pastner
Joshua Paul Pastner (born September 26, 1977) is an American college basketball coach who is currently the men's basketball head coach at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Pastner was a player on the 1997 Arizona Wildcats men's basketball national championship team, and an assistant coach at the University of Arizona under Lute Olson and at the University of Memphis under John Calipari. He was named the 2013 ''Sporting News'' Conference USA Coach of the Year, and the 2017 Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Basketball Coach of the Year. Early and personal life Pastner was born in Glen Dale, West Virginia, in the state's northern panhandle, the son of Marla and Hal Pastner. Craig Randall II
Leonard Craig Randall II (born April 22, 1996) is an American professional basketball player for the Rip City Remix of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for the Memphis Tigers and the UT Martin Skyhawks. High school career Randall began his high school career at Girard High School, averaging 23.4 points per game as a sophomore. For his junior season he transferred to Medina High School. Randall averaged 20.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game for a team that finished 19–7 and appeared in the Copley Division I district title game. He moved to Arizona before his senior season after his father found a new job and enrolled at Shadow Mountain High School, playing under coach Mike Bibby. Jeremiah Martin
Jeremiah Oljawain Martin Jr. (born June 19, 1996) is an American professional basketball player who plays for Enisey Krasnoyarsk in the VTB United League. He played college basketball for the Memphis Tigers. Early life Martin grew up in Memphis, Tennessee and Mitchell High School. He was a three year starter for the school's basketball team and Mitchell won the TSSAA Class A state season in his junior and senior seasons. As a senior, Martin was named Tennessee Mr. Basketball and the MVP of the TSSAA State Tournament after scoring 19 points in the state title game.
