2015–16 Louisiana Tech Bulldogs Basketball Team
The 2015–16 Louisiana Tech Bulldogs basketball team represented Louisiana Tech University during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bulldogs, led by first year head coach Eric Konkol, played their home games at the Thomas Assembly Center and were members of Conference USA. They finished the season 23–10, 12–6 in C-USA play to finish in three-way tie for third place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the C-USA tournament to Old Dominion. They were invited to the inaugural Vegas 16, which only had eight teams, where they lost in the quarterfinals to East Tennessee State. Previous season The Bulldogs finished the 2014–15 season 27–9, 15–3 in C-USA play to finish as regular season C-USA champions. They advanced to the semifinals of the C-USA tournament where they lost to UAB. Eric Konkol
Eric Konkol (born November 24, 1976) is an American college basketball coach and former player. He is the current head coach of the Tulsa Golden Hurricane men's basketball program. Coaching career On May 18, 2015, Konkol was named by Louisiana Tech as the 18th head coach of the Bulldogs basketball team. He replaced former head coach Mike White who accepted the head coaching position at the University of Florida. Through seven seasons as head coach, Konkol had six seasons of more than 20 wins which is the most in Louisiana Tech men's basketball history. He was the fastest to 50 wins in school history and is currently 4th on the all-time wins list. On March 21, 2022, Konkol was hired as head coach at Tulsa. 2015 National Invitation Tournament
The 2015 National Invitation Tournament was a single-elimination tournament of 32 NCAA Division I teams that were not selected to participate in the 2015 NCAA tournament. The annual tournament is being played on campus sites for the first three rounds, with the Final Four and championship game being held at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The tournament began on Tuesday, March 17 and ended on Thursday, April 2. On February 6, the NCAA announced the 2015 NIT will use a 30-second shot clock (same as its WNIT counterpart) and a restricted-area arc as experimental rules for the 2015 tournament. IPFW Mastodons Men's Basketball
The Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons men's basketball team is the intercollegiate men's basketball team that represents Purdue University Fort Wayne (PFW). They have been a member of the Horizon League since 2020 (departing from the Summit League after thirteen years). Formerly, they represented the now defunct Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW). The team has yet to participate in the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. Kenneth Jerome "Speedy" Smith Jr. (born January 28, 1993) is an American professional basketball player for Türk Telekom of the Turkish Basketbol Süper Ligi (BSL).
