2015–16 Long Beach State 49ers Men's Basketball Team
The 2015–16 Long Beach State 49ers men's basketball team represented California State University, Long Beach during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The 49ers were led by ninth year head coach Dan Monson and played their home games at Walter Pyramid. They were members of the Big West Conference. They finished the season 20–15, 12–4 in Big West play to finish in third place. They defeated UC Riverside and UC Irvine to advance to the championship game of the Big West tournament where they lost to Hawaii. Dan Monson
Daniel Lloyd Monson (born October 6, 1961) is an American college basketball coach who is currently the head coach at Eastern Washington. He was previously the head coach at Long Beach State for 17 seasons. He was also the head coach at Minnesota for over seven seasons, reaching postseason play five times. Before coaching the Gophers, he was the head coach at Gonzaga for two seasons, leading the team on an improbable run to the Elite Eight during his last season. Early years Monson is the son of college basketball coach Don Monson, and spent most of his early years in eastern Washington, where his father was a successful high school head coach in Cheney and Pasco for 18 seasons. Nick Faust
Nicholas David Jordan Faust (born February 25, 1993) is an American professional basketball player for Pioneros de Los Mochis for the Circuito de Baloncesto de la Costa del Pacífico (CIBACOPA). He played college basketball for Maryland Terrapins and the Long Beach State 49ers. Faust was the leading scorer on the Petro de Luanda team that won the BAL championship in 2024. College career He played three seasons for the University of Maryland. In his first season he was named to the All-Freshman Team of the Atlantic Coast Conference. He averaged 9.4 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2 assists per game as a junior and spent the latter half of the season as a bench player. The 2015–16 Seton Hall Pirates men's basketball team represented Seton Hall University in the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Pirates played home games in Newark, New Jersey at the Prudential Center, with one exhibition and one regular season game at Walsh Gymnasium in South Orange, New Jersey. They were coached, for the sixth year, by Kevin Willard. They were members of the Big East Conference. They finished the season 25–9, 12–6 in Big East play to finish in third place. The 2015–16 BYU Cougars men's basketball team represented Brigham Young University in the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. It was head coach Dave Rose's eleventh season at BYU and the Cougars fifth season in the West Coast Conference. The Cougars once again played their home games at the Marriott Center. As a result of a scandal surrounding inappropriate benefits received by BYU starting guard Nick Emery from a BYU booster, the NCAA vacated all of BYU's wins for the 2015–16 and 2016–17 seasons with the exception of a 2015 win over Weber State in which Nick Emery did not play. The BYU–Hawaii Seasiders men's basketball team represented Brigham Young University–Hawaii at the NCAA Division II level in college basketball. The team attended 6 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, NAIA Tournaments and 11 NCAA Division II men's basketball tournament, NCAA Division II Tournaments. The Seasiders participated as members of the Pacific West Conference. History BYU-Hawaii fielded its first collegiate basketball team in 1978. Justin Bibbins
Justin Bibbins (born January 23, 1996) is an American professional basketball player for Dinamo Sassari of the Lega Basket Serie A (LBA). He played college basketball for Long Beach State and Utah. College career Bibbins was recruited by Utah out of high school, but the Utes did not have a scholarship available for him by the time he was to join the squad. Instead, Bibbins enrolled at Long Beach State and was twice named All-Conference. He averaged 13.1 points and 4.6 assists per game as a junior. After graduating from Long Beach State, Bibbins decided to transfer to Utah for his final season of eligibility. He was named team captain despite being new to the program.
