2015–16 Iowa State Cyclones Men's Basketball Team
The 2015–16 Iowa State Cyclones men's basketball team represented Iowa State University during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Cyclones were coached by Steve Prohm, who was in his 1st season. They played their home games at Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa and competed in the Big 12 Conference. They finished the season 23–12 10–8 in Big 12 play to finish tied for 5th place. They lost to Oklahoma in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Conference tournament. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament where they defeated Iona and Little Rock to advance to the Sweet Sixteen where they lost to Virginia. Previous season Iowa State finished the season 25–9, 12–6 in Big 12 play to finish in second place. Steve Prohm
Steven Marshall Prohm (born July 12, 1974) is an American basketball coach who most recently served as the head coach at Murray State University from 2022 to 2025. Previously, he was the head coach at Iowa State University, a position he had held from 2015 to 2021. Prohm served in the same capacity at Murray State from 2011 to 2015. Early life A native of Vienna, Virginia, Prohm's family later moved to Dalton, Georgia, where Prohm attended high school at Northwest Whitfield High School in Tunnel Hill, Georgia and lettered in basketball for three years, graduating in 1992. He started college at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta where he played NCAA Division III basketball. Prohm made it less than halfway through his first season as a player when he left the team to follow his passion for coaching. Loyola Ramblers Men's Basketball
The Loyola Ramblers men's basketball team represents Loyola University Chicago in Chicago, Illinois. The Ramblers participate as members of the Atlantic 10 Conference. The Ramblers joined the Missouri Valley Conference in 2013, and stayed until 2022. Prior to 2013, the team had spent 34 seasons as a charter member of the Horizon League. In 1963, Loyola won the 1963 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament (then the "NCAA University Division") men's basketball national championship under the leadership of All-American Jerry Harkness, defeating two-time defending champion 1962–63 Cincinnati Bearcats men's basketball team, Cincinnati 60–58 in overtime in the 1963 NCAA University Division Basketball Championship Game, title game. Clayton Custer
Clayton Custer (born June 28, 1995) is an American former basketball player and current assistant coach for the Oklahoma Sooners. A point guard, he played college basketball for Loyola University Chicago, and was the 2018 Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year. Custer briefly played professional basketball for Śląsk Wroclaw of the Polish Basketball League. High school career Custer played high school basketball at Blue Valley Northwest High School in Overland Park, Kansas, where he and future Loyola teammate Ben Richardson led the team to back-to-back state championships. Southern Miss Golden Eagles Basketball
The Southern Miss Golden Eagles basketball program represents intercollegiate men's basketball at the University of Southern Mississippi. The school competes in the Sun Belt Conference in Division I of the NCAA and plays their home games at Reed Green Coliseum, which has a capacity of 8,095. The Oakland Golden Grizzlies men's basketball team represents Oakland University in Auburn Hills, Michigan, United States. Dustin Hogue (born June 30, 1992) is an American professional basketball player for Pallacanestro CantùPallacanestro Cantù of the Serie A2. He played college basketball for Indian Hills Community College and Iowa State Cyclones. Hogue entered the 2015 NBA draft, but was not selected in the draft's two rounds. High school career Hogue played high school basketball at Lincoln in Yonkers, New York. He was ranked as the No. 208 player in New York. College career Indian Hills Hogue chose to play college basketball for Indian Hills college after finishing highschool at Lincoln High School. Bryce Dejean-Jones
Bryce Alexander Dejean-Jones (August 21, 1992 – May 28, 2016) was an American professional basketball player. He played college basketball for Iowa State University after stints with USC and UNLV, and played professionally for the New Orleans Pelicans of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Dejean-Jones was fatally shot after breaking into an apartment, having wrongly believed it to be that of his girlfriend. High school career Dejean-Jones attended View Park Preparatory High School for two years, then transferred to and graduated from William Howard Taft Charter High School in the Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, Woodland Hills section of Los Angeles.
