2015–16 FA Women's Premier League Cup
The 2015–16 FA Women's Premier League Cup is the 25th running of the competition, which began in 1991. It is the major League Cup competition run by the FA Women's Premier League, and for the second season it is being run alongside their secondary League Cup competition, the 2015–16 FA Women's Premier League Plate, Premier League Plate. All 72 Premier League clubs entered at the Determining round, with the winners continuing in the competition and the losers going into the Premier League Plate tournament. Going into the tournament, Charlton Athletic L.F.C., Charlton Athletic were the reigning champions, having defeated Sheffield F.C. Ladies, Sheffield on Penalty shoot-out (association football), penalties the 2014–15 FA Women's Premier League Cup, previous season. They failed to defend their title this year however, thanks to a defeat to Cardiff City Ladies F.C., Cardiff City in the first round. Chester-le-Street () is a market town in County Durham, England. It is located around north of Durham and is close to Newcastle. The town holds markets on Saturdays. In 2021, the town had a population of 23,555. The town's history is ancient; records date to a Roman-built fort called Concangis. Ystrad Mynach is a town in the Rhymney Valley in the Caerphilly County Borough, within the ancient county of Glamorgan, Wales, and is north of the town of Caerphilly. The urban area had a population of 19,204 in 2011. Before the Industrial Revolution and the coming of coal mining in the South Wales Coalfield the valley was rural and farmed. Ely ( ) is a cathedral city and civil parish in the East Cambridgeshire district, in Cambridgeshire, England, northeast of Cambridge, southeast of Peterborough and from London.
