2015–16 Detroit Titans Men's Basketball Team
The 2015–16 Detroit Titans men's basketball team represented the University of Detroit Mercy during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Their head coach was Ray McCallum in his eighth season. The Titans played their home games at Calihan Hall and were members of the Horizon League. They finished the season 16–15, 9–9 in Horizon League play to finish in sixth place. They defeated 2015–16 Youngstown State Penguins men's basketball team, Youngstown State in the first round of the 2016 Horizon League men's basketball tournament, Horizon League tournament to advance to the second round where they lost to 2015–16 Wright State Raiders men's basketball team, Wright State. Ray McCallum
Ray Michael McCallum Sr. (born March 6, 1961) is an American college basketball coach who is currently an assistant coach for Tulane Green Wave men's basketball, Tulane. He previously served as the head coach for the men's basketball team at the University of Houston and the University of Detroit Mercy. He is also a former player and head coach of Ball State University. From 2016 to 2018 McCallum served as assistant coach at Georgia State Panthers men's basketball, Georgia State. Previously, he also served as an assistant coach at Oklahoma Sooners men's basketball, Oklahoma and Indiana Hoosiers men's basketball, Indiana. McCallum won Indiana High School Athletic Association Championships in both his junior and senior year at Muncie Central High School. At Ball State he scored 2,109 points during his career and was Player of the Year in the Mid-American Conference his senior year.
