2015–16 American Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Season
The 2015–16 American Athletic Conference men's basketball season took place between November 2015 and March 2016. Practices began in October 2015, with conference play beginning in December, and the season ended with the 2016 American Athletic Conference men's basketball tournament at the Amway Center in Orlando, FL. The season was the third since the split of the original Big East Conference into two separate leagues. Troy Wendel Caupain Jr. (born November 29, 1995) is an American professional basketball player for SIG Strasbourg of the French LNB Pro A. He played college basketball for Cincinnati. High school career Caupain attended Cosby High School and started on the basketball team as a sophomore, averaging 7 points per game. Damyean Da'Kethe Dotson (born May 6, 1994) is an American professional basketball player for Petkim Spor of the Turkish Basketball Super League (BSL). Dotson previously has played for the Cleveland Cavaliers and New York Knicks in the National Basketball Association. Shonn Devante Miller (born August 26, 1993) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Meralco Bolts of the East Asia Super League. He played college basketball for Cornell and Connecticut. High school career Miller is a native of Euclid, Ohio and attended St. Ignatius High School. Devonta Pollard (born July 7, 1994) is an American professional basketball player who plays for Ensenada Lobos of the Circuito de Baloncesto del Pacífico (CIBAPAC). A 6'8 power forward, Pollard played college basketball for Alabama, East Mississippi Community College and Houston. Early life Pollard grew up in the small town of Porterville, Mississippi. His mother, Jessie Mae, played one season in the Women's Professional Basketball League before it folded in 1981, at which point she returned to Porterville and became a high school history teacher. James Woodard (born January 24, 1994) is an American professional basketball player who plays for King Szczecin of the Polish Basketball League (PLK). Quenton D. DeCosey Jr. (born August 8, 1994) is an American professional basketball player who last played for Rabotnički of the Macedonian First League. Dedric Lawson (born October 1, 1997) is an American professional basketball player for the Xinjiang Flying Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). Fran Dunphy
Francis Joseph Dunphy (born October 5, 1948) is an American former college basketball coach. He served as the head coach at the University of Pennsylvania for 17 seasons, Temple University for 13 seasons, and La Salle University for three seasons. Originally starting at Penn in 1989, Dunphy led the school to ten Ivy League championships. He was hired at Temple to succeed John Chaney in 2006, spending 13 seasons with the program and making eight NCAA tournament appearances. After a brief stint as Temple's interim athletic director, in 2022, Dunphy was named head coach of the La Salle Explorers, his alma mater, where he coached for three seasons until his retirement in 2025. Shaquille Harrison (born October 6, 1993) is an American professional basketball player for LDLC ASVEL of the LNB Élite and the EuroLeague. He played college basketball for the Tulsa Golden Hurricane.
