2015 World Archery Championships – Men's Individual Recurve
The men's individual recurve competition at the 2015 World Archery Championships took place from 27 July to 2 August 2015 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The reigning champion and world number one archer Lee Seung-yun was not selected for the South Korean team, so did not compete. The top 8 competitors, excluding those whose countries earned team qualifying spots in the team event, earned an individual qualifying spot for their country for the 2016 Summer Olympics. Only one spot per country could be earned this way. An Olympic Secondary Tournament was held to rank competitors reaching the same round. Schedule All times are local ( UTC+01:00). Recurve Bow
In archery, a recurve bow is one of the main Bow shape, shapes a bow (weapon), bow can take, with limbs that curve away from the archer when unstrung. A recurve bow stores more energy and delivers energy more efficiently than the equivalent straight-limbed bow, giving a greater amount of energy and speed to the arrow. Brady Ellison
Brady Ellison (born October 27, 1988) is an American archer who competes in recurve archery. He holds the record for the longest continuous period as the world number-one-ranked men's recurve archer, from August 2011 to April 2013. He earned his nickname "The Prospector" during the 2015 world championships due to his proclivity for 'finding gold'. Personal life As a child, Ellison suffered from Legg–Calvé–Perthes disease and wore leg braces for some time. He has had subsequent health issues with his knees, particularly in the lead-up to and during the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, and the fingers of his drawing hand. Ellison married Slovenian archer Toja Černe (now known as Toja Ellison) in April 2016. Juan Carlos Stevens Caminero (born October 22, 1968, in Santiago de Cuba) is an athlete from Cuba, who competes in archery. 2008 Summer Olympics At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing Stevens finished his ranking round with a total of 659 points, which made him the 28th seed for the final competition bracket. He faced Calvin Hartley in the first round, where he beat the archer from South Africa. Both archers scored 107 points in the regular match, but in the extra round Stevens scored 19 points and Hartley scored 18 points. Stevens went on to reach the quarter-finals by beating Alexandru Bodnar (108-101) and Alan Wills (108-104).
